What exactly is GeraClone?
A personal-clone service. You build a clone from your own data + structured interviews, then use it to handle routine email, teach your expertise for money, or answer your family without interrupting you.
Is this for dead people?
No. GeraClone is for living people. Most customers use the productivity or expert modes. Archive mode exists as an optional toggle for clones that outlive their creator, but it is one option among four — never the pitch.
What data do you need?
Whatever you want to give. Google Drive + Gmail + Photos are the most common. Dropbox. WhatsApp / iMessage / Facebook GDPR exports. Voice memos. Or just type journal entries. You can stop here and still get a working clone from interviews alone.
Do you train a foundation model on my data?
No. Your data is scoped to your clone only. We use retrieval-augmented generation — your clone cites passages from your corpus at inference time but your data never enters a shared training set.
How does the expert tier pay out?
Stripe Connect destination charges. Subscribers pay monthly via Stripe; 70% transfers to your connected Stripe account on each successful invoice, 30% stays with GeraClone. No opaque revenue schedule.
Can I share my clone with family?
Yes. The family-context mode lets designated family members chat with your clone. You choose which topics it can discuss and which it should refuse or defer back to you. Every message is signed so you have a full audit trail.
How do I know a message really came from my clone?
Every clone reply is signed with an ed25519 key generated inside our KMS. The public key is on your Clone profile. Anyone can paste a signature into our /verify endpoint to confirm it came from your clone. An impostor cannot forge a signature without the wrapped private key — which we never expose in plaintext.
What does my clone refuse to do?
Refuses to claim it is alive. Refuses to ask your contacts for urgent money, gift cards, crypto, wire transfers, or "grandma-in-trouble" scams. Refuses to impersonate real people beyond its declared self. Refuses to engage in self-harm content — escalates to GeraWitness for human review instead.
What does GDPR look like?
Art. 15 data export: one click in the dashboard, returns everything we hold about you. Art. 17 right to erasure: soft-delete for 30 days (so you can reinstate), then hard-delete including all derived corpus and chat history. Art. 9 special-category data handling: encrypted at rest, minimum-viable processing, no cross-user leakage.
What if I stop paying?
Your clone moves to ARCHIVE status and chat is disabled, but your data stays safe. You can reactivate for 12 months at any time for the usual monthly fee. After 12 months we begin deletion unless you've opted into the one-time £999 perpetual archive add-on.
Can I run my clone on my own hardware?
Not yet. The MVP is cloud-only for the RAG + signing pipeline. A self-host edition is on the 2026 roadmap for enterprise customers with residency requirements.
What about archive mode? (optional)
Archive mode is a low-key toggle — you can designate beneficiaries who receive access if your estate activates the archive. The clone mode flips to ARCHIVE, the disclosure text updates to state the clone is now managed by your estate, and billing transfers. We do not lead with this; most customers never use it.
